Greek Anemone prefers a well-drained soil. In wet, poorly drained soil the tubers rot or winter kill. A sunny location is best although the plants tolerate partial shade. These small, early blooming plants are useful as a bedding plant. The tubers are planted 3 to 4 inches deep (7.5-10 cm) during the fall. Soak them in water overnight before planting. Tubers planted too deep grow poorly.
